ImmerVision Awarded Prestigious Frost & Sullivan Award for Panoramic Imaging

Montreal, Quebec: ImmerVision announced today that its revolutionary Panomorph technology is the recipient of the Frost & Sullivan Award for North American Technology Innovation of the Year. The Frost & Sullivan Award recognizes ImmerVision’s revolutionary panomorph technology, which enables 360-degree panoramic functionality for existing video surveillance systems and eliminates blind spots, clarity, distortion and/or resolution issues intrinsic to older panoramic imaging technologies such as the fisheye and mirror lens.

ImmerVision’s Panomorph lens is the only optic technology in the world that can enable standard analog and IP video surveillance systems, with panoramic capabilities without any blind spots or downtime. “The unique characteristics of ImmerVision’s technology stems from the company’s unconventional approach to create a better solution to surveillance, which was not possible with the older technologies that have problems with clarity, blind spots, distortion and/or resolution,” says Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Miriam Nagel. “Instead of focusing on reducing distortion, ImmerVision’s R&D team focused on increasing distortion to capture a broader image area, then eliminated the distortion and improved the picture clarity with intelligent, advanced software.”

“We are pleased to be recognized by such a respected organization as Frost & Sullivan,” said Pascale Nini, ImmerVision’s President and CEO. “We have always believed that our Panomorph technology would make a significant contribution both to the security industry, which is now happening, as well as many other industries such as medical, aerospace and automotive, to mention a few,” she added.

ImmerVision’s Panomorph lens can capture and survey a 360-degree area without distortion or blind spots, which is significant in high-risk areas such as airports, mass transit, government and corporate offices, shopping centers or any public area. The IMV1-1/3 lens, the first panomorph lens designed for the security market, can fit on any analogue or video camera with a 1/3” sensor from 480 TVL to 1.2 MP, which is standard for security video surveillance. The IMV1-1/3 lens has astonished insiders because it doesn’t require expensive hardware or extra bandwidth to function. Its easy-to-install software eliminates image distortion and makes it compatible with virtually any digital video recorder (DVR) or network video recorder (NVR).

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to a company that has carried out new research, that has resulted in innovation(s) that have or are expected to bring significant contributions to the industry in terms of adoption, change, and competitive posture. The award recognizes the quality and depth of a company’s research and development program as well as the vision and risk-taking that enabled it to undertake such an endeavor.
